 The Corridor

The Tourist Corridor winds along the twenty mile stretch of coastline that connects the Capes cities of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Perhaps best known for its succession of luxurious seaside resorts, the Corridor is also home to scenic beaches and bays, and several world-class golf courses.

See & Do

The best activities option is golf. There are close to a dozen first-class golf courses between San Lucas and San Jose, and at least two - the Jack Nicklaus designed layouts at Palmilla and Cabo del Sol's Ocean course - that are world-class. A third course, the Robert Trent Jones II designed Cabo Real, has hosted two PGA Senior Grand Slam events. Beachgoers will want to explore Playa Santa Maria and Chileno Bay, which offer beautiful sands and excellent swimming and snorkeling. Adrenaline junkies can zip-line and bungee jump at Wild Canyon, an adventure-oriented theme park.

Eat

There are some excellent fine dining restaurants in the Corridor. Sunset da Mona Lisa is among the more popular dinner spots, with generous helpings of fresh local seafood, a gourmet pizza lounge, an onsite sommelier, and spectacular views of Land's End and the Sea of Cortez. One & Only Palmilla, perennially ranked as Mexico's top resort, has two superb restaurants in Agua and Market. Sheraton Hacienda del Mar is also known for its onsite dining options, which include steaks and Baja Mediterranean cuisine at De Cortez Grill, Pacific Rim fusion at Pitahayas, and traditional Mexican specialties at Girasoles de la Hacienda.

Party

The Corridor is not exactly known for its nightlife. Most of the top resorts offer onsite lounges or bars and grills, but if you want to dance the night away, Cabo San Lucas is the place to go. However, if you want to while away the afternoon and early evening hours, Zipper's on Playa Costa Azul is a popular hangout for locals and tourists alike. Enjoy the best bbq ribs in Los Cabos, drink ice cold Victoria beers, watch all the latest sporting events, or rent a board and join the surf crowd for the area's best waves.

Stay

Several of Los Cabos' most impressive resorts are located in the Corridor. One & Only Palmilla, Esperanza, and Las Ventanas Al Paraiso are the top three options for luxury travelers, with each offering lavish appointments, deluxe amenities, and accommodations overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Cabo Surf Hotel is the Corridor's best boutique option, a chic little 22-room resort on Acapulquito Beach, with board rentals and lessons available for the surf crowd, and excellent onsite dining at 7 Seas Seafood Grille.

Shop

Plaza San Lucas is just outside of Cabo, and is the comprehensive shopping stop for those staying in or around San Lucas. Pick up food and sundries at Walmart or Sam's Club, shop for beverage items at La Europea, or browse the beachwear and bikini options at some of the smaller boutiques. For longer-term visitors, Costco and Home Depot are also located just off the Carretara Transpeninsular. Las Tiendas de Palmilla is a high-end shopping plaza near San Jose del Cabo, featuring clothing boutiques, art galleries, jewelry stores, and sushi courtesy of Nick-San.
