Cabo San Lucas
 Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas' history as a tourist destination is directly tied to the area's reputation for big-game sportfishing, and over the last forty years, what was once a small fishing village has evolved into a modern resort community, complete with luxury beachfront hotels, world-class restaurants, golf, and boutique shopping malls.

See & Do

Cabo is known for its water sports. Fishing has always been a big draw, and snorkeling and diving are also extremely popular activities. Visiting beachgoers will have no problems finding companies that offer kayaks, surfboards, wave runners, and other water-based rental equipment

Eat

Cabo features a wide array of international cuisine options, but what most local restaurants have in common is a commitment to showcasing the superb local seafood. Nick-San is the king of the local sushi restaurants, but visitors may also want to visit some of the traditional Mexican seafood stops, such as Mariscos Mocambo and Mariscos Mazatlan.

Party

Sammy Hagar's October Birthday Bash still attracts huge crowds, and Cabo Wabo Cantina remains the town's signature nightspot. Tourists flock to Cabo Wabo for the superb live music, quality bar food, and premium tequila-flavored cocktails. El Squid Roe is the other long-time titan of Cabo's nightlife scene, and if you want to party with the local crowd, stop by late on a Saturday night.

Stay

Cabo's hotels and resorts fall into three broad categories: Pedregal luxury resorts, beachfront resorts and all-inclusives, and downtown value hotels. Capella Pedregal is the benchmark local lodging. This world-class property opened in 2009, and quickly challenged One & Only Palmilla for supremacy in the high-end luxury accommodations market. The Pacific coast resort features sleek modern appointments, superb spa services, and memorable cliffside fine dining courtesy of El Farallon.

Shop

There are no shortage of jewelry stores here, and the town also features plenty of high-end shopping courtesy of Puerto Paraiso Mall and Luxury Avenue. Traditional arts and crafts remain popular souvenir items, and resort clothing is available at several local boutiques. To truly capture the Cabo style, try Dos Lunas at Plaza Bonita. This chic shop offers resort clothing for the entire family.
